FLV source filter Pop-up error‏

yesterday night I had a chance to go through my system files and was browsing some old data that I hadn’t seen for a while. this included photos, word documents and video files I was just clicking on files to look at previews so that I can get an idea about whats in the files.

my brain stopped working when i clicked on .flv files that were downloaded from YouTube. Actually what happened was when i clicked on the file a pop-up appears with title “FLV Source filter” with some information on it and then it goes to not responding state and sometimes hangs the system. i tried my best and in the end I found a forum that gave me the solution to remove this pop-up, I am quoting it as it was:

“If you cannot locate it in your software list in Add/Remove software on your control panel, I can only suggest a system search for the file – FLV.ax …and manual deletion.”

this is what helped me out in solving the problem. i searched for the “FLV.ax” file and deleted it. but this is not the only solution presented if you didn’t get this error fixed you can go to that web link and see what else is discussed there

I hope this helps you!

cheers!!! ;)
